The Queensland Country Credit Union, Nebo Shire Council Office and Library and Doctors Surgery are all located in the Town Centre. Ambulance Service, Community Health Nurse, Police Station and Swimming Pool are all in walking distance from the Town Centre.

H I S T O R Y

Glenden was built to service the Newlands Coal Mine. Construction on the town began in 1982 and was ready for its big influx of workers in January 1983.

It is an open town administered by Nebo Shire Council. Glenden is the biggest town in the Shire and is located less than two hours drive from Mackay.
